Effective date: October 18, 2026
This privacy policy explains how FemRenew, the clinic of Dr. Fay Weisberg, MD, FRCSC, at 4025 Yonge Street, Suite 215, Toronto, Ontario, collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information. It covers information we receive through this website (femrenew.ca), by phone, by text message and by email. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean FemRenew.
The privacy laws we follow
As a medical clinic in Ontario, we handle personal health information under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). If you share health details with us, for example in a website message or a phone call, we treat them as personal health information.
Some information we collect through this website is not health information, such as newsletter sign-ups and website analytics. Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to that information where the law says it does.
What we collect
When you send us a message through the website
- Contact form: your first name, last name, phone number, email address and message.
- Newsletter sign-up form: your name and email address.
- With each form, the website also records the date and time, the page you sent it from, your browser type and your IP address (the network address of your device).
When you call or text us
Phone numbers shown on this website and on our Google listing may be call-tracking numbers. They forward to our main clinic line. They help us see which website pages and searches lead people to call us, and a different number may appear on this page for the same reason.
When you call or text one of these numbers, our call-tracking provider collects:
- your phone number, and the caller ID name and general location (such as city and province) supplied by the phone network;
- the date, time and length of the call;
- a recording of the call, and in many cases a written transcript and an automated summary of the call;
- the content of any text message you send;
- if you called after visiting our website, details of that visit, such as the page you landed on, how you found us, your device and browser type, your IP address and your Google Analytics visitor ID.
When you browse this website
Our website and the tools it uses collect information about your visit, such as your IP address, approximate location based on that address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the website or search that brought you here, and the date and time of your visit. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
Like most websites, our hosting server also keeps standard technical logs of visits, and our website keeps a log of addresses that could not be found (the page address, the referring page and the browser type).
When you become a patient
When you come to us for care, we collect the health information we need to assess and treat you. That information is handled under PHIPA as described in this policy.
Why we collect and use your information
- To reply to your messages and calls, and to set up consultations.
- To provide and manage your care.
- To follow up on missed calls and text messages. Our tools send the clinic email alerts about them.
- If you signed up for our newsletter, to send you the Vag-E-Zine and newsletters with women’s health articles, events and offers.
- To understand how people find and use our website, and which pages, searches and ads lead to calls and messages.
- To protect our website and forms from spam and abuse.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations.
Your consent
When you send us a message, call us or text us, we take that as your consent to use your information to respond to you. For your health care, PHIPA lets us rely on your implied consent to share health information with others who provide your care (sometimes called your “circle of care”), unless you tell us not to. We ask for your express consent where the law requires it.
When you sign up for our newsletter, you agree to receive our emails. You can unsubscribe from them at any time by contacting us. You can also withdraw your consent to other uses at any time by contacting us (see “Contact us about privacy” below). Withdrawing consent may limit what we can do for you, and it does not undo uses or disclosures already made or required by law.
Notice about recorded calls
Calls to the call-tracking numbers shown on this website and on our Google listing are recorded, and may be transcribed and summarized automatically. We use recordings and transcripts to follow up on enquiries and to understand how people find us. If you would prefer your call not to be recorded, please contact us through our contact form or by fax at (416) 924-7099 instead, and tell us how you would like to be reached.
How we share your information
We use and disclose personal health information as PHIPA permits or requires. For example, we may share it with others who provide your care, or when the law requires us to.
We also use service providers to run our website, phone lines and email. They receive personal information to provide their services to us. These include:
- Website hosting and maintenance: our hosting provider and the marketing agency that maintains our website and online tools. They can access information stored on the website, such as form messages.
- Call tracking and lead tracking: WhatConverts, which provides our tracking numbers and stores call recordings, transcripts, call summaries, text messages and copies of website form messages.
- Website analytics: Google Analytics.
- Spam protection: Google reCAPTCHA and OOPSpam, which check form messages and the visitor’s IP address for spam.
- Email: email services that deliver messages from our website, such as form notifications and newsletter emails. Form messages and newsletter sign-ups are also emailed to clinic staff mailboxes, which are hosted by third-party email providers.
- Maps, fonts and icons: Google Maps (the map on some pages), Google Fonts and Font Awesome. When your browser loads these, the provider receives your IP address and browser details.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Ontario and outside Canada, including in the United States. There, it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful requests from its authorities.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This website uses:
- Google Analytics cookies (named
_gaand_ga_followed by an ID). These help us count visits and see how people use the site. They last up to about 13 months. - Call-tracking cookies from WhatConverts (named
wc_visitor,wc_client,wc_client_currentandwc_swap). These show you a tracking phone number and connect a call or form message to the visit that led to it. They last from a single browsing session up to about 13 months. Similar information is also saved in your browser’s local storage. - Spam-protection and map tools from Google, which may set their own cookies when they load.
- Our website software also saves a small amount of information in your browser’s local storage so pages work properly.
We have not added advertising or retargeting pixels (such as Meta or Google Ads tags) to this website. Our call-tracking tool records how a visitor arrived, including from an ad, so we can match calls and messages to visits. If we add advertising tools, we will update this policy.
Your choices:
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the website will still work, but you may see our main phone number instead of a tracking number.
- You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Browsing in a private or incognito window clears cookies when you close it.
How long we keep information
- Patient health records: for the periods required by law and by the rules of the medical profession.
- Website form messages: in the website’s database, in our email, and in our call-tracking account, until they are deleted.
- Newsletter sign-ups: in the website’s database and in our email, until you ask us to remove you or we delete them.
- Call recordings, transcripts and text messages: in our call-tracking account, until they are deleted.
- Copies of emails sent by the website (including form notifications): in an email log for up to 12 months.
- Spam-screening records: about 3 months.
- Analytics and call-tracking cookies: as listed under “Cookies and analytics”.
You can ask us to delete website and marketing information we do not need to keep. Health records are kept as the law requires, and we will explain if we must keep other information.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this website and spam screening on our forms. We aim to limit access to the people and service providers who need it.
No website, email or phone system is completely secure. Please keep detailed health information out of website forms and email. We can discuss it with you by phone or in person.
Your right to see and correct your information
You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, including your health record, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete. Please send your request in writing to our privacy contact (details below). We will respond within the time limits set by law, generally within 30 days, and sometimes longer where the law allows. We may charge a reasonable fee where the law allows, and we will tell you about any fee first. In some cases the law allows or requires us to refuse a request. If so, we will explain why.

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date.
